Special Reaction Team Development

This course is designed to provide alternate methods and options of firing positions, entry and clearing techniques, movement techniques and advanced marksmanship skills for tactical teams.    Decision making scenarios with role players are also included in this program.  This course was taught as Phase II training to Military Police officers graduating from the US Army SRT School.  Due to its unique design, the length of this course varies depending on your units requirements.  All of your units weapons systems will be addressed during this training. This course is normally five days in length, but maybe customized to fit your unit requirements.

Train-The-Trainer” Clinics

These are the same clinics provided by us at the MTU#1 while we were at Fort Bragg. We can still offer these clinics to Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve Military Units.  They consist of M16/M4 rifle, M9 Beretta/M11 Sig Sauer, and M1911 Pistol, MP5 SMG, Combat Shotgun, M60LMG, M21/M24 Sniper Systems, and SRT Sustainment for MP Units.  The same programs of instruction we wrote for the U.S. Army MTU will be followed for these courses.  Train-The-Trainer Clinics are all 3 days in length.

Aircraft Interdiction Course

This program of instruction is specifically designed for Airline Pilots and FFDO who want to supplement the training required by the TSA. Day one begins with pistol Marksmanship Fundamentals. Follow up topics include Drawing the Pistol from various positions.

Position Firing, Weak/Strong Hand Shooting. Single/Multiple Threat Engagement, Immediate Action Drills, Use of Cover, and Firing from Seated Positions and Shooting on the move. Course length is 3 days

Law Enforcement /Military Armorer Courses

S.O.T.A. offers Law Enforcement/Military Armorer Courses for M16/M4/AR-15  weapons systems, Remington M24/700 Rifles /  870 Shotguns, Beretta 92 Series pistols, and 1911 style pistols.  These programs will take you through Safety, Disassembly, Inspection, Cleaning, Troubleshooting, Assembly, Cycle of Function, and Function Check of the specific system.  The course content goes far beyond that of similar programs. These courses are all two days in length.  Courses can be combined to cover all of your weapon systems.  All tools are provided for course use.  A 3 year certification is issued upon successful completion of any Armorer School.

SMG Operators Course

Training objectives include Safety, Characteristics of the SMG, Marksmanship Fundamentals, Immediate Action Drills, Position Firing, Use of Cover/Concealment, Single/Multiple Threat Engagement, Reloading Techniques,  Close Quarter Combat Skills and Transition to the Handgun.  This course is three days in length.

 

Combat Reactive Pistol Course

In a combat situation fast, accurate threat engagement is critical to surviving a deadly force encounter.  This course introduces the shooter to advanced marksmanship skills and tactics with the pistol in a close quarter environment.  Some of the topics covered include position firing, multiple threat engagement, advanced reloading techniques, weapon retention, weak/strong hand shooting, situational exercises and shooting on the move. This course is three days in length.

Tactical Marksman Course

This course takes into consideration realistic distances that a Law Enforcement Marksman might encounter during an armed confrontation in both an urban and rural environment. Topics covered in this course include Safety, Rifle Marksmanship Fundamentals, Equipment Selection, Position Selection, Concealment, Communications, Observation Skills, Optics, Ballistics/Effects of Fired Rounds, Range Estimation and Intelligence Gathering.  This course is 3 days in length. 

Patrol Rifle Operator Course 

This course provides training for personnel who carry a patrol rifle as an entry or duty weapon. Training begins with rifle marksmanship skills and a zero exercise.  The training quickly evolves into position firing, single and multiple threat engagement, immediate action drills, shooting on the move, limited visibility training, use of cover, close quarter combat techniques, transitioning to the pistol, and  movement techniques.  This is an excellent course for departments beginning their patrol rifle program.

Course length is 3 days.

Tactical Reconnaissance Course (Rural)

This course is designed to enhance the tactical teams intelligence gathering capabilities in support of missions in a rural environment.  Topics include, but are not limited to: command & control, mission planning, equipment selection, land navigation, map reading, communications, movement techniques in rural terrain, use of camouflage, intelligence gathering & reporting,  and briefing / debriefing.   The course is 4 days in length and culminates with a day and night reconnaissance mission.
